Requirements

  • Drupal Web Publishers must attend a Drupal training. At the Drupal training, Web Publishers are granted access to create and edit web pages for their department website. Send requests for Drupal training to webrequest@fredonia.edu.

Parts of a Drupal web page


How to edit each part of a Drupal web page

A. Page URL: To edit the Page URL, log into Drupal, edit the URL Path Settings > URL Alias field. See: https://answers.fredonia.edu/x/xQEHAQ

B. Top Nav Menu: To request a change to the blue Top Nav Menu, send an email to webrequest@fredonia.edu.

C. Page Title: To edit the Page Title, log into Drupal and edit the Page Title field.

D. Background Image: To edit the Background image for your site, log into Drupal and edit the Office for your department. See: https://answers.fredonia.edu/x/rwIHAQ

E. Action Button: To add or edit an Action Button, log into Drupal, edit the fields in the Action Buttons section of the page. See: https://answers.fredonia.edu/x/OAIHAQ

F. Site Navigation Menu: To add or edit an Site Menu, log into Drupal, and choose My Workbench > My Menus. Click the name of the menu to edit. See: https://answers.fredonia.edu/x/vAIHAQ

G. Teaser text: To add or edit the Teaser text, log into Drupal

H. Page Image / Carousel: To add or edit a Page Image or Carousel, log into Drupal and edit the fields in the Page Image/Carousel section of the page. See: https://answers.fredonia.edu/x/oQIHAQ

I. Page Content (Body): To add or edit the main content, log into Drupal and edit the Body section of the page. 

J. Sidebar: To add or edit the gray sidebar content, log into Drupal and edit the Sidebar section of the page.

L. Site Search: To request a change to the search results for a specific Fredonia page for a search term, send an email to webrequest@fredonia.edu with the details of the page and the change you want. The Web Team can make some adjustments to site search results.

M. Footer: To request a change to the text or link that appears in the site-wide Footer, send an email to webrequest@fredonia.edu.

N. Drupal Login: Click the Login in the lower left of the page Footer to access Drupal tools. See: https://answers.fredonia.edu/x/FYEg

These are the links and menus visible when a Drupal user is signed in, with permissions to edit the web page.


Drupal page editing fields

These are the page editing fields available when a Drupal user clicks New Draft or Edit Draft.

A. Page URL: To edit the Page URL, log into Drupal, edit the URL Path Settings > URL Alias field.
