Step-by-step guide

These instructions are for the smart classrooms that have an Extron Touchpanel:

  1. Touchpanel controls
The Extron Touchpanel has buttons on the sides for light control, muting, and system off. There is also a volume knob located at the bottom.
  2. Main screen
This is the main screen, which contains touch buttons. From here you can touch any A/V input to start the projection (If the projector fan is on, please wait until it is off before touching the panel). The screen will drop down.

  3. Wait for projector
Wait for the projector to warm up.* You should see the projector light come on anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes, longer times are expected if there was a class right before yours. You may adjust the lights and the volume at this time.

  4. DVD controls
The DVD option provides buttons that enable you to control the DVD. These buttons work the same as a remote control.
  5. Other options
Other options, such as PC or Laptop, will not show any buttons, but you may select the Help button for more information.
  6. System off
When finished, be sure to push the System Off button to shut down the system.
If you shut down the projector during class, the projector will take few minutes to shut down completely. You will not be able to start the projector until its fan has turned off.

Projector Warmup
The projector is on if you see a light glowing.

Laptop Connect
Connect your laptop to the external input with the supplied HDMI cable, or VGA on the side of the console. If you do not have a cable, please visit the ITS Service Center before your class, and they will loan you a cable to use during your class.
